I’m hiring a Marketing Generalist at Magic.

There, I did it.

I’ve been sitting on this post for a while now. And not because we wanted to wait for the perfect day—Mayank has been asking me to put up this post for weeks. We even have the role up on AngelList.

I waited because I wanted to be ready. Ready for what comes after we’ve hired someone to fill this role.

Magic is a super-early-stage company, and there’s literally everything that needs to be done (by someone). I didn't want our first marketing hire to be juggling between 4-5 different things when there are only 1 or 2 things that move the needle.

I know this can happen because I’ve been there.

Enough storytelling now—I’d love to talk to you if:

  • You’re enthusiastic about creating helpful (and not overly optimized for SEO) content.
  • You’re into all things experimentation.
  • You’re open to learning new things eve and then (this is our top priority).

Now, what do we have to offer?

  • Clearly defined expectations and work requirements.
  • Unlimited resources to learn and grow.
  • Remote-friendly work environment.
  • Yearly offsites and regular in-person team meetups (the next one is coming up in late September).

p.s. I’d love for someone early in their career with some interest in content and/or marketing to join us.

If you’re interested in applying, you can reply/DM/email at rishabh@magic dot app. Super excited to chat. I’m #hiring. Know anyone who might be interested?

Building an early-stage startup is incredibly tiring.

At any given point in time, there are X number of things going on — ✵ hiring ✵ new initiatives ✵ team building ✵ marketing ✵ fundraising ✵ ...and so much more.

And everything needs something else — can't build a team if we haven't hired, can't hire if we're not out there in this market...and so on.

How (if you are, that is) are you handling this as an early-stage founder?
