Highlights
When you ask for 5 minutes of someone’s time…
Don’t take 20.
And especially don’t waffle & dump your whole life on that person.
I now mostly say no to people who ask ‘for 5 minutes of my time’.
Because absolutely no-one takes 5 minutes and everyone steals your time.
They think you’re rude by declining them, actually THEY are rude for chatting nonsense at you for 4-5x longer than they asked for.
Now, if you request 5 mins, and you clearly ask or state what you want in 3 mins, people will give you more and more of your time and they will respect you.
I WANT to help people.
I just don’t have 20 mins plus for everyone who interrupts me for a 5 min request.
Or even WORSE, ‘just one minute of your time’.
More utter nonsense from Labour: employees could take 4 day work week
As if not being able to contact staff out of office hours isn’t enough
(Oh & £10bn+ spend on public sector pay rises even though
- Public services and broken
- There’s a ‘£21bn black hole’
Do they NOT want to turn this failing economy, & nation, around?
Do they want us in even more debt?
Small business is the biggest tax payer/driver of national revenue
Yet Labour seem determined to make it impossible to get any work done
Maybe this is not popular, but in hard times (make no mistake, these are HARD times)
Shouldn’t we be encouraging more/better work. Not less?
How’s the trillions of national debt going to be paid off?
How’s the cost of living crisis going to change?
How is the economy going to grow?
Can ANYONE tell me how all this 'work less but make the employers pay’ has any upsides at all?
Humour me, please
