Long Overdue Update!
I’m happy to report that I am alive and well! Over the past few months, I’ve been taking some much-needed time off and, dare I say it, living my best life.
For the first time since 2007, I took more than a two-week vacation. As it turns out, that’s too long! Here’s a recap of my sabbatical experience:
Month 1: I focused on catching up on personal matters that had piled up during a particularly intense work period. From doctor and dentist appointments to bills and taxes, I made administrative tasks my job. It was a bit disorienting without my usual back-to-back meetings, but I managed. It feels good to be caught up!
Month 2: I dedicated time to getting healthy, losing 15 pounds, and diving back into CrossFit. More importantly, I reconnected with my kids, which was a much-needed personal reset for me.
Month 3: I started to miss my job, not just the people and the sense of building value in something important, but the work itself. I realized how fortunate I am to love and excel at my job.
Month 4 (June): A few friends reached out, asking if I could help as a fractional General Counsel until I find my next long-term role.
The General Counsel recruiting and hiring cycle is lengthy, and I’m being very intentional about my next opportunity. In the meantime, I’m thoroughly enjoying getting back to basics, working with some fantastic early-stage companies and collaborating with friends and colleagues who appreciate my capabilities.
If you know anyone looking for a fractional or full-time full-stack General Counsel, please keep me in mind.
Thank you all for your support!
I'm super excited to be co-leading a session at my favorite conference of the year today! If you're at Fullstack GC, stop by and say hi.
