Robert Tinajero is an Associate Professor of English/Rhetoric and the Program Coordinator for the English and Writing Program at UNT Dallas.124 He formerly held the position of Director of Writing Studies and Associate Professor of English at Paul Quinn College in Dallas, TX.1 Robert helped design the Applied English program and the minor in Rhetoric and Writing Studies.2

Tinajero's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Writing Studies from UT-El Paso, a Master's degree in Creative Writing from the University of Houston, a Master's degree in Theological Studies from Southern Methodist University, and a BA in English and Religion from Austin College.2

His research interests encompass Hip Hop rhetoric, Critical Race Theory, and the history of composition studies in the United States from 1900 to the present.2 He teaches courses related to writing, rhetoric, and culture, and he has published several academic articles and two books of poetry.23

Robert is a native of El Paso, TX, and enjoys sports, concerts, spending time with friends, and family activities.2 Besides teaching, he is also a writer and poet.3 Tinajero is working on his third book of poetry and enjoys writing about life, relationships, everyday events, and culture.3
