Great article by Precision Medicine Online highlighting the progress being made in cell therapy for solid tumors. https://lnkd.in/gBPvJZ4G Recently, Adaptimmune’s autologous, engineered T cell receptor therapy, Tecelra, received FDA approval as a treatment for MAGE-A4-expressing synovial sarcoma. The treatment, like our TAC-T technology at Triumvira Immunologics, involves ex vivo engineering of a patient’s T cells to target tumor cells while sparing healthy tissue. Tecelra marks the second cell therapy approval for treating solid tumors, but the very first approved ex vivo-engineered cell therapy for a solid tumor indication.
This progress serves as a proof of concept for the use of engineered cell therapies against solid tumors and paves the way for novel precision therapeutics against aggressive, treatment-resistant cancers.
I looking forward to seeing some friends and past colleagues at the #BioFuture2023 conference, where will be speaking on a panel “Mavericks: Navigating the Biotech Landscape in a Difficult Market” on October 6 in New York.
