Medical Adviser, End of Life Washington

Dr. Robert Wood, a prominent figure in the healthcare sector, dedicated 24 years to leading the Seattle and Washington clinical and public health response to HIV/AIDS.

Following his retirement in 2010, Dr. Wood took on the role of volunteer Medical Director at Compassion & Choices of Washington, an organization focused on educating and advocating for terminally ill adults regarding Death with Dignity Laws.

He continues to contribute to academia by delivering lectures at the University of Washington and Seattle University on topics related to HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Wood is actively involved in the Socio-behavioral Prevention Research Core of the Center for HIV/AIDS & STD Research, providing his expertise to further the research in this field.

Passionate about making a difference, Dr. Wood spends most of his retirement time assisting volunteers, medical directors, and clients at Compassion & Choices of Washington, where he aids individuals in understanding and pursuing end-of-life options.

Furthermore, Dr. Wood is affiliated with organizations such as End of Life Washington, where he serves as a Medical Adviser, and the LifeLong AIDS Alliance, demonstrating his commitment to multiple facets of healthcare.

His educational background includes a degree in Medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, as well as a degree in Mathematics & Chemistry from Hamilton College.

With a wealth of experience and a strong focus on public health and compassionate care, Dr. Robert Wood continues to make significant contributions to the medical community and end-of-life advocacy.
