Roberto Jimenez

Head of Renewable Power Development - EMEA at Shell

Roberto Jiménez is currently an Executive Director at BW ESS, where he is responsible for identifying and developing new investment opportunities in grid-scale energy storage.1 Before joining BW ESS, Jiménez was in charge of Shell's onshore power business in Europe.2 In this role, he started Shell’s renewable power business in the region in 2017 and developed the first utility-scale solar and wind parks.123 He expanded Shell's renewable power business in Europe to include a pipeline of 9 GW of projects and a team of 100 professionals.1 Earlier in his career, he held roles in engineering and management consulting at URS (now AECOM) and ERM, and also held various corporate strategy and innovation roles at Shell.1

Jiménez has an MBA from Yale University and a BSc in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University.1
