Roderick des Tombe is a passionate individual focused on implementing strategies for a more sustainable and thriving world while enjoying the process.

Born and raised in Indonesia, he pursued his education at Jakarta International School before heading to California for university.

Upon returning to Jakarta post-graduation, he worked as a consultant with government and private sector leaders, ultimately transitioning to become a social entrepreneur with a sustainable tourism focus.

Since 2005, Roderick has founded several companies dedicated to sustainable travel, including stewardship of eco resort-villages like Pulau Macan in the Java Sea, an urban sustainability center and restaurant in Jakarta called Beehive Cafe, and a special village resort in Bali known as Michi Retreat.

In addition to his ventures, he has also been involved in developing a web platform utilizing cryptocurrency and barter for sustainable goods and services exchange.

In 2019, Roderick shifted his focus from city-based centers, selling his shares in Impact Hub Jakarta and closing down Beehive. He redirected his attention to a new project in South West Java aiming to establish an inspiring ecovillage and a hub for Jakarta.

Roderick des Tombe's career has seen him hold roles as the Founder of Pulau Macan, Co-Founder of Impact Hub Jakarta, Co-Founder of Project EVO, Owner and CEO of United Adventures, Strategic Adviser on Ecotourism at the Association of Indonesian Kingdoms (FSKN), Managing Partner at Bee Hive Cafe, Executive Assistant to Chairman at ASEAN Business Advisory Council, and Associate Consultant at Van Zorge Heffernan & Associates.
