Early Life and Education

Lynch was born on October 24, 1962, and spent much of his childhood in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Loyola Blakefield in Baltimore and later studied at the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in physics. He then obtained an MBA from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business, graduating with highest distinction.23

Career

Before joining Condé Nast, Lynch had a diverse career in various industries:

  • Aerospace and Finance: He worked in aerospace and defense before transitioning to technology investment banking at Morgan Stanley.2
  • Chello Broadband and Video Networks International: Lynch served as President and CEO of Chello Broadband in Amsterdam and later as Chairman and CEO of Video Networks International Ltd., an IPTV provider in the UK.24
  • Dish Networks and Sling TV: He joined Dish Networks in 2009 and became the founding CEO of Sling TV, overseeing its launch in 2015. During his tenure, Sling TV became the No. 1 U.S. over-the-top television service.234
  • Pandora: Lynch was appointed President and CEO of Pandora in September 2017. Under his leadership, Pandora experienced significant revenue growth and was eventually sold to Sirius XM in February 2019.234
