Many of you will know my passion for photography, having frequently seen my images in storytelling at corporate / team / industry events. Robert Capa famously said "If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough", which I have always maintained is a wonderful analogy for how we should be thinking about and engaging in our customer relationships - proximity, subject matter, focus, depth of field, originality, patience, timing and correct exposure all make for deep, lasting, impactful and trusting relationships, as in images. Although, at times, it has felt a little indulgent to showcase what has been a privileged life filled with fortunate opportunity to live and work around the world, I was encouraged by those near and dear to me (some might say strong armed!) to submit an entry for this year's "The de Young Open" and was thrilled to be one of the community artists chosen to have my work, "Nowhere to be", displayed from September 30th through January 7th, 2024. If you happen to be in the Bay Area later this year, make sure to take a few hours to visit the exhibition - https://lnkd.in/gKMPtVPg

Those friends and colleagues, from my time spent in Singapore from 2004 to 2008, might recognize the image as having been made in the "pink" Redhill MRT station (in 2022).

Here's one more quote from a famous photographer, Ansel Adams, that translates well to our need for better customer experience in our industry ... "There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept.”
