Rogier M. Reijmers, PhD, is a renowned expert specializing in cell-cell interaction and communication, particularly focusing on immune cells and their crucial role in identifying foreign or cancerous cells within the body.

With a solid educational background including studies in Gymnasium Beta, Biomedical Sciences, a PhD in Immuno- and Hemato pathology from the University of Amsterdam, and an MSc in Life Science/Medical Biology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Rogier has a strong foundation in the field.

Currently, Rogier serves as the Principal Scientist at LUMICKS, where he leads groundbreaking research in equipping immune cells with transgenic receptors and check-point inhibitors to enhance their ability to combat cancer cells and improve patient outcomes.

Previously, Rogier held key positions at reputable institutions such as Leiden University Medical Center, VU Medical Center, Erasmus Medical Center, UMC Utrecht, Academic Medical Center, and Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, where his expertise in Immunology/Hematology was highly valued.

One of Rogier's notable contributions includes developing a cutting-edge acoustic force microscope (z-Movi®) at LUMICKS, enabling the measurement of cellular avidity in high throughput, revolutionizing the understanding of effector cell-target cell interactions for enhanced cancer treatment.

His work emphasizes the importance of utilizing advanced technologies to improve immune cell responses and combat immune evasion strategies employed by cancer cells, ultimately aiming to advance cancer treatment and patient care.
