Rolando Valenzuela

Dr. Rolando G Valenzuela is an accomplished professional currently attending the LAC+USC Medical Center as a Mirkin Fellow in International Emergency Medicine. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at UMDNJ in Newark and received medical training at Tufts University in Boston. Dr. Valenzuela's specific interests lie in the development of Emergency Medicine in Latin America, Trauma Systems, Mass-Gathering & Event Medicine, Disaster Medicine, and Humanitarian Assistance. He is fluent in both written and spoken Spanish. Dr. Valenzuela pursued his Doctor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, studied at Rutgers University, Holmdel High School, and New York University for a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish Literature, and also studied at Instituut Voor Tropische Geneeskunde. He has affiliations with various organizations including being a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Stony Brook University, a former Fulbright Scholar at Pontificia Universidad Católica De Chile, a former International Emergency Medicine Fellow at the University Of Southern California, a former Emergency Medicine Resident at Umdnj, and held research assistant roles at Icahn School Of Medicine At Mount Sinai, Nyu School Of Medicine, and Loyola University Medical Center.
