Rory Hyde

Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Melbourne

Rory Hyde is a designer, curator, and writer based in Melbourne, Australia, with a focus on new design practices for the public good and redefining the role of designers.

He holds the position of Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Melbourne and serves as a Design Advocate for the Mayor of London.

From 2013 to 2020, he held the role of Curator of Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Rory Hyde is the author of 'Future Practice: Conversations from the Edge of Architecture' (2013) and co-editor of 'Architects After Architecture: Alternative Pathways for Practice' (2021).

He obtained his PhD in Architecture and Bachelor's degree in Architecture from RMIT University.
