Rowan Brookes

Rowan Brookes is a prominent figure in promoting educational change in STEM fields.

With extensive experience bridging universities, government, and industry, she focuses on educational initiatives.

Rowan is recognized for her expertise in science leadership, serving as Course Director in the Graduate Certificate Scientific Leadership.

She is also a Co-Lead for the leadership stream in Homeward Bound and a Co-Founder of the cross-sector leadership program for women, STEM side-by-side program.

Her research interests encompass employability, educational technology, gender, and leadership in science education.

Rowan holds a Ph.D. and a B.Sc. in ecology, a B.A. in anthropology and religious studies, and has pursued executive education in leadership at prestigious institutions like Harvard and Stanford.

In 2016, she was honored as the Telstra Business Women of the Year for Victoria in the Academia and Public Sector category.

Rowan has contributed to various publications including The Scientific American, The Conversation, Huffington Post, and more.

With a diverse educational background and a wealth of experience, Rowan continues to be a driving force in advancing STEM education and leadership.
