We have been encouraged by the swift action that the new government has taken on this so far, including signing off on our 500 MW Gate Burton solar project which will play a key role supporting the government's mission of delivering a net zero grid by 2030.
However, we need to go further to ensure priority is given to building renewable energy infrastructure and that we stay on track to meet our decarbonisation targets.
A key component of this will be to accelerate the connection of renewable projects to the grid, which will act as an important signal for investors.
Low Carbon is committed to building a completely renewable energy system that will be a profound legacy for the generations that follow us.
