Roy Confino

Head of Business Development @ Lemonade

Roy Confino is a seasoned professional with a diverse background spanning business development, insurance, payments, entrepreneurship, and the public sector.

He currently leads business development at Lemonade and heads the Lemonade Crypto Climate Coalition, where he focuses on leveraging blockchain technology to combat world hunger.

Prior to Lemonade, Roy co-founded Freesbee, an online payments platform that secured $2M in funding and established partnerships with major banks in Israel.

His earlier experiences at the Israeli Ministry of Finance involved driving significant macro-economic reforms related to digital transformation, the labor market, and financial regulation.

Roy's leadership roles in the Israeli military intelligence Unit 8200 honed his skills as a software development section commander and product manager, where he supervised a team of 20 soldiers and earned two Outstanding Project Awards.

Roy holds a Master's degree in Commercial Law from the University of California, Berkeley, and has completed various training programs in corporate governance, business analysis, law, and finance at institutions like Tel Aviv University and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

In addition to his academic achievements, Roy has pursued interests in photography and acting, having studied at The Camera Obscura Arts School and SELA - The Yoram Leowenstein Performing Arts Studio, respectively.

His professional journey includes leadership positions at Lemonade, where he served in roles such as Head of Business Development, President of The Lemonade Crypto Climate Coalition, Head of Strategy and Operations, and Head of Crypto Initiatives.

Before his tenure at Lemonade, he co-founded and served as the Chief Operating Officer at Freesbee.me and held roles at prestigious institutions like the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel, the Israel Ministry of Finance, and the Supreme Court of Israel.

Roy also contributed through editorial and research positions at The Hebrew University Law Journal and the Israel Democracy Institute, showcasing his multifaceted expertise and commitment to impactful work.
