Anyone who continues doing business with Putin's Russia will be a collaborator. Your goods, services, funds, energy, intellectual capacity are all being perverted by Putin to kill innocents. Show your position, stick to the principles of a free democratic world, where your business was founded. Besides making profit, business has a higher mission for our society. Even if you don’t believe in the higher mission of markets in free societies, understand Russia’s volatility and reputation issues will cost you much more. Companies must announce divestment immediately and present an expeditious schedule publicly, or reputational damages will exceed even your paper profits. End Collaboration · Stop production in Russia · Stop investing in Russia · Stop using Russia in your supply chains · Stop flights to Russia · Stop providing advisory to Russian enterprises (except to help move out of Russia) · Exclude Russia from all international events (sports, entertainment, academia, etc Profits made from collaborating with Putin's Russia must be donated to rebuilding Ukraine, Georgia, and Syria. #russiapapers #nowar #saveukraine
UPD 28.02 - Daimler Truck AG just stopped cooperation with Kamaz. It is not clear what that means, as there is no public statement from them except for an article by Handelsblatt, but we ask for:
- public resignation from all management and advisory positions of Daimler employees at Kamaz
- public disclosure of salaries, bonuses, and dividends from cooperation with Kamaz by Daimler and its employees and donated to the Humanitarian aid to victims of war in Ukraine
- banning exports of any goods and services from Daimler Truck AG and Mercedes-Benz AG to Russia, while it is in war with Ukraine
- instead, provide the cars and trucks for Ukraine's humanitarian and defense purposes
27.02 - Daimler Truck AG invested over €1b into Kamaz, which supplies military trucks to the Russian army actively used in wars, including a full-blown invasion of Ukraine.
We urge Daimler Trucks to use its 25%+1 blocking stake to prevent Kamaz trucks sold and serviced for military purposes. Russian army uses 40,000 to 80,000 Kamaz vehicles. Unfortunately, 1,000 German rockets given to Ukraine are insufficient to stop 40,000 vehicles given to Putin's army. The Ukrainian army will need much more than that. Time for multinational companies to use their power and stand to their principles over short-term profits.
We urge Jan Krönig and Wolfram Schmid to immediately resign publicly from the Board of Directors of Kamaz. We understand that those roles were taken with the best intention, but with the Russian aggression started, everyone who condemns the war should step down.
As immediate remedial measures, all salaries, bonuses, dividends received from Kamaz should be disclosed and donated to the Humanitarian aid to victims of war in Ukraine.
Ukraine expressed concerns about such investments by Daimler back in 2015 only to get a response that “EU policies prohibit selling weapons to Russia, but allow those to be produced by EU firms working as a joint venture in Russia”. This should change.
People of Ukraine highly value Germany’s long-lasting backing and we hope to restore peace in Europe together soon. For this to happen, we need to make sure that:
- No JVs with any state-owned enterprises of Russia are made
- No advisory is provided to Putin's Russia strategic companies
