With 12 years of experience at Google, Ryan has contributed to projects like Google Drive, Chromebooks (helping it grow from 4 to 400 people), Android Things (formerly project Brillo), and various engineering endeavors in AR and VR (Google Lens, AR Core, Daydream, Cardboard, etc).

Currently, Ryan Cairns is leading the Portal team at Facebook. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin and has held various key positions at Meta and Google, including VP roles in engineering and leadership positions in immersive computing, Brillo/Weave/Android, Chrome OS/Chromebooks, and Google Drive among others.
