I first learned about RIP Medical Debt through NPR and Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, and I was amazed by the work the organization was doing to free people from harmful medical debt. To date, the nonprofit has wiped out nearly $7.4 billion in medical debt — absolutely incredible. And I'm sure incredibly time-consuming.

So when I sent a random email back in August to see if someone from RIP's leadership team might be willing to join the Paytient Podcast, I didn't expect to hear back. Once again, they blew me away.

Someone with RIP responded within a matter of days. We hopped on a Zoom call a week or so later, and we had a great conversation about the organization and potential topics we could discuss if they were to come on our podcast.

Now, several months after that cold email, I'm so excited to release our interview with Ruth Landé of RIP Medical Debt for the world to hear. Special thanks to Daniel Lempert for the help in coordinating this. And, of course, thanks to Jay Moore and J.R. Clark for always being such great partners in bringing this podcast to life.

Give it a listen! And if you're inspired to support this great cause, you can donate to RIP Medical Debt at https://lnkd.in/g9NfCxiD.
