Sabeen Dhanani is a distinguished professional currently holding the position of Deputy Director of the Technology Division at USAID, overseeing a team of over 60 technical experts covering key areas such as emerging technologies, digital inclusion, and cybersecurity.

With a background in innovation and competitiveness, Sabeen previously worked as a consultant at the World Bank before transitioning to serve as the Senior Project Manager for Digital Analytics on the Obama 2012 campaign, where she focused on optimizing digital content through experiments.

Prior to her current role, Sabeen spent time as a Senior Strategy Consultant with the Monitor Group, offering strategic advice to government and private sector clients in the Middle East and Africa on various aspects such as policy, competitiveness, and organizational development.

Sabeen's academic journey includes earning a Master's Degree in Regional Studies - Middle East from Harvard University and a Bachelor's Degree in Near Eastern Studies (cum laude) with Distinction in all Subjects from Cornell University. She also studied Arabic & Middle East Politics at The American University in Cairo.

Beyond her professional roles, Sabeen is recognized as a thought leader, representing USAID in global forums to advocate for open, secure, and inclusive digital ecosystems. She is affiliated with the Council on Foreign Relations as a Term Member.
