After a successful year and a half tenure as Director of Communications at Resilience Force, it's time for me to explore new opportunities. I'm proud of the work we accomplished during my time there. We were able to raise awareness of the organization in a short amount of time, resulting in numerous positive profiles in publications such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Guardian UK, NPR, CNN, and MSNBC. I'm excited for what the future holds and can't wait to see what's next... Some exciting news: At the beginning of October, I began working as the Director of Communications for the national non-profit Resilience Force.

The organization starts from a critical premise: In the wake of increasingly frequent and violent natural disasters, a generation of "Resilience Workers" have evolved, a set of folks willing to do the dirty and dangerous work of cleaning up and rebuilding after floods, fires and hurricanes. As much of this workforce is made up of undocumented migrants, they are often taken advantage of and placed in peril. Subcontractors will call ICE rather than pay wages due, supervisors will refuse PPE when asking workers to clean up asbestos and fiberglass, job sites where roof-top repairs are called for fail to feature harnesses. The list goes on, as do the ways in which Resilience Force embeds itself on the ground, working for justice and equity for these folks.

Simultaneously, we are piloting worker training programs all over the country, hoping to play a role in the creation of an eventual one million strong climate workforce that will feature the know-how and experience to effectively and efficiently rebuild our cities and communities and make them more climate resilient. We sit at the exact intersection of climate, labor and migration, and I couldn't be more excited and humbled to make my contribution to some of the most critical and intractable problems of this generation.
