Finally getting some time to give props to an awesome #RSA2024 last week. Some random thoughts/reflections/moments from last week:
-
Make sure to search #rsac2024 and see all the other posts/pics from people that attended
-
Coming out of the conference, for my PE/investor client friends, Bain & Company has developed a "What We're Hearing" Cyber POV. Do reach out to your Bain partner contacts and happy to walk you and team through some perspectives and insights
-
I quickly tap certain people like Gary Hayslip, Ira Winkler, and Frank Kim on the shoulder and simply thank them for what they've done (and continue to do) for our field. Wish I had the chance to run into people like Patrick Garrity 👾🛹💙 Chris H. (and sooo many more) to do the same!

Can someone get @bruceschneier on Linkedin already???!!!
-
Being in Cyber for the past 18+ years, you tend to make a few friends along the way. Was so nice to bump into many of my faves
-
One of my favorite past times at the #rsaexpo is to Linkedin stalk some of the vendor presenters and see if they're actually cyber ninjas with the company or just hired third-party presenters. Alexandrea B. (and others) was definitely one of the former and had a very insightful presentation!
-
Amazing when looking back at my #GE crew and seeing how far some of them have come along. Was great to run into Jason Gage, Vernecia Ruffin, and Snehal Antani and seeing their successful cyber career trajectories. Missed you James Beeson!
-
Love running into CEOs/Founder friends like Sachin K Nayyar who are super successful yet humble when they meet you
-
RSA is the type of place where you stop for a breather on a nearby seating area only to be sitting across from people like Mikko Hypponen (The Hypponen Law) and have no choice but to take a sniper pic, sorry!
-
Love going to the #RSAexpo. Some vendors have some of the smartest folks in our industry and are definitely worth the listen/learn. Nice to respectfully challenge them on several fronts

I had a rather unscripted moment when I ran into my former boss Tom Baltis. Shared a very personal story from more than a decade ago where, unbeknownst to him, his words/actions greatly affected me and have kept me in Cyber ever since. To all my CISO friends, continue to be a light for your people.
Tagging some (BOOOO, there's a mention limit here!) of the great people/presenters/friends I had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with. Until next year! Although I thought my #rsac2024 write-up with reflections, insights, and pics would be posted by the time the plane took off, it didn't!
Should I rewrite it all again?
Nonetheless, it was a blast! Attending sessions, meeting and hanging out with friends and formers, and making new connections made it an unforgettable experience.
I hope you all made it back home safe, and I hope we get to run it back again!
