Sam Bonar is a creative and comedic civic strategist with over a decade of performing experience and around 8 years in facilitation and coaching. Currently serving as the co-director of Delicious Democracy in DC, he focuses on transforming systems of power through creative advocacy and fostering authenticity, creativity, curiosity, vulnerability, and adaptability.

Sam is instrumental in leading the movement to Rank the Vote in DC, aiming to empower voters to vote their values without strategic constraints. He has spearheaded various initiatives like Delicious Lobbying, Delicious Happenings, and Showupia, where he combines civic engagement with creativity and innovation.

Beyond his current endeavors, Sam is committed to DC liberation, advocating for causes like Statehood, food justice, equitable education, Ranked Choice Voting, and community ownership through cooperative housing and employee-owned businesses.

Having a background in wholesale energy markets and blockchain technology, Sam has also co-published an economics paper and organized events with significant participation and budget management.

Sam studied Physics and Physical Sciences at the University of Chicago, and his professional journey has seen him contribute to various organizations like Delicious Democracy, Showupia, Basecamp Strategy, The Hub Project, and multiple roles at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Congressman Earl Blumenauer's office, Cleantech Group, DiCon Fiberoptics, University of Chicago, and Office Depot, among others.
