Sam Polk

PhD Candidate at Tufts Mathematics

Sam Polk is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate at Tufts University, specializing in unsupervised machine learning. His research focuses on analyzing multiscale structure in data, exploring different latent separations within datasets using tools from harmonic analysis, graph theory, and linear algebra. Sam has a diverse educational background, including studies in Mathematics at Budapest Semesters in Mathematics, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Mathematics from Tufts University, a Certificate in Data Science from General Assembly, and dual degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Rochester. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics at Tufts University, Sam has also gained practical experience as a Research Assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital, a Research Analyst at Infusion Global Partners, and a Research Assistant at UC Berkeley.
