Highlights
For a long time, I wasn’t sure if women’s groups were really necessary and felt they sent the wrong message.
I thought, "Why separate ourselves when we’re striving for equality?". But as I’ve grown in my career, I’ve realised how crucial these spaces are—not for separating, but for empowering.
It’s not about creating distance; it’s about raising awareness of the problems we face, sharing our experiences and lifting each other up in an industry where our voices still need to be louder. It's no secret that women often face unique challenges in the workplace. These aren’t just professional hurdles; they’re personal, and they can be deeply isolating.
That’s why creating a community where we can openly share, offer support, and learn from each other is so vital. Flux is designed to be that space—a network where we can come together, not just to survive in our roles, but to thrive.
I’m proud to be a founding member of Flux, a new network built for women and non-binary leaders in UX (UXR, UXD) and Design.
If you’re a woman leading UX and/or Design in an organisation (sorry, not open to agencies just yet), I’d love to see you at our launch event on October 9th in London.
Grab your ticket below ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eWA3p7aB
And for our male colleagues, we see you and value your support. We’ll be sharing more soon about how you can get involved as allies– and we would love you to help. Please follow Flux for updates.
Special thanks to Amy Kelly and Danielle Macdonald for the hard work and efforts getting Flux going, and to my other founding members Emma Boulton, Anne Stevens, Michelle Bejian Lotia, Liz Kessick, Kate Margolis, Sandra González, Alice Hayes, Ruth Gamble, Gemma Daley, Catherine Richards, Louise Herriot, Naoil Sbai, Mary MacPherson, Chloë Alper.
Join us in building Flux!
