I'm excited by real-world asset (RWA) applications building on Transak as a transition into taking all finance on-chain. The powerful thing about RWA apps is that they don't try to reinvent new financial products or create unfamiliar user experiences. They have the same use cases, such as investing, buying property, or private loans. I would even consider stablecoins and therefore invoicing, international remittance, consumer payments, and B2B payments to be in this category.

These apps follow the same compliance, the same real-world contracts, and similar user flows. The only difference is that they use blockchain and stablecoins as a backend infrastructure to get:

• 24/7, instant settlement • borderless transactions (e.g. investing in US treasuries cross-border) • composable and automatable (e.g. an issuer of loans can automatically send stablecoins to a yield earning smart contract when it is unused)

Unlike DeFi protocols, they are not reinventing finance. Many of them are permissioned (require KYC). However, they provide familiar finance apps with some incremental improvements, and these improvements compound over many transactions to make a big difference.
