Highlights
I am excited to announce that Ethereum Singapore Qing Ze Hum and I are putting together the very first Ethereum Home Staking Summit at the Singapore Artscience Museum on 16th September 2024, during the week of F1 and Token2049!
We are bringing together the biggest players in Ethereum staking in one place as a massive coordinated effort to "Make solo staking exciting again".
If you are curious about solo/home staking, this is your chance to meet the core teams of the largest Ethereum staking projects, compare notes with likeminded learners, and get front row seats to the latest opportunities for solo stakers!
Link to the Luma sign-up page is in the article!
*Entrance is free but ticketed due to capacity constraints.
It’s been around a year since I first open-sourced the documentation I use for operating and managing the Ethereum validators I run for my network.
Over the past year, the ability to run validator nodes proficiently has become a highly monetisable craft, and many new tools were launched.
Hence, I am making a major update to my solo staking guide, available to anyone who wants to learn the ropes.
📖 Link will be added in the comments.
Key changes include:
- Optimised instructions for solo stakers to run additional services to scale their earnings
- Added all client combinations
- DVTs: Starting with Diva and adding Obol + SSV soon!
- Bonded Validators: Lido CSM
- Added simplified ETH consensus & validator concepts for non-Web3 readers
💹 Active programmes to scale your solo staker (node operator) earnings and reduce costs:
-
Lido SimpleDVT: Up to 500 active validator keys delegated to clusters of 7 node operators with 7% share of rewards—i.e., 1% * 500 keys * 32 ETH * 3% POS rewards per operator = 4.8 ETH/year
-
Ether.fi Operation Solo Staker: Up to 85 active validator keys delegated to clusters of 7 node operators with 5% share of rewards—i.e., 0.71% * 85 keys * 32 ETH * 3% POS rewards per operator = 0.58 ETH/year
-
DVT Home Staker Programme: Reimbursements for staking hardware while learning to run distributed ETH validator nodes with a cohort of 30.
The best part about these programmes is that you can reuse existing staking hardware to participate in them and can become proficient enough with just 1 - 2 weeks of practice.
However, the slots are highly coveted and the current capacity will likely be fully allocated by October this year. That said, there is low representation from Asia (& especially SEA) so our chances could be higher. This is because geographical diversity is critical to blockchain networks.
Finally, I expect similar opportunities to emerge given the successful precedents so the best play is to get up to speed on solo staking today while indicating your interest in participating in these programmes.
I am collating these interests for these programmes so DM or leave a comment if you are keen!
