Sandra Schuster

Dr. Sandra Schuster is a seasoned Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management specialist with an extensive track record of over 15 years working across Asia, South Pacific, the Caribbean, Europe, and Australia. Her experience spans both the public and private sectors, collaborating with distinguished organizations such as GIZ, UNDP, Asian Development Bank, The World Bank Group, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), among others. Currently, she is engaged with GIZ on a variety of climate change adaptation initiatives, focusing on areas like GCF and ICI proposals, water security, transboundary flooding, early warning systems, human mobility in the context of climate change, climate risk insurance, and integrated climate risk management. Prior to this, she contributed significantly to UNDP reports for the COP21 UNFCCC negotiations and the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR), besides working on integrated water resources management and climate change matters for the ADB in Indonesia and the Philippines.
