Sandy Harmer was the Office Manager and Grand Canyon Reservation Manager at Western River Expeditions.2 She had an impressive 33-year career with the company, during which she embarked on over 25 rafting journeys down the 187-mile stretch of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.1

Sandy Harmer, born Sandra Lou Davis on September 23, 1946, in Filer, Idaho, had a rich and adventurous life. She was married to Jerry Harmer and was a mother of seven children. Beyond her professional role, Sandy was known for her adventurous spirit, obtaining her scuba diving certification at age 60 and becoming an avid slalom water skier at 40.1

Sandy was also deeply involved in her community and faith, serving in various capacities within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband Jerry volunteered at temples and served an 18-month inner-city mission in Salt Lake City.1

Sadly, Sandy Harmer passed away on February 1, 2025, after a long battle with Myelofibrosis, a blood cancer she was diagnosed with in 2008.1
