Highlights
While exploring the feasibility of a 5 kwp grid-tied solar power plant for my home in Amritsar, Punjab, I was told by the #Solar Integrator that #India's Rooftop Solar policy does not allow for rooftop installation with battery backup to be a grid-tie one.
He gave me two options:
-
Having an off-grid install and being able to store power in batteries and powering my home when grid power is off BUT not being able to sell excess power to the grid!!
-
Having a grid-tie install with no battery storage and being able to sell excess power to the grid BUT when grid power is off, so is my home's power!
To me this makes no sense! Not only this is an inconvenience after spending a lot of money but delays the payoff period.
Request Solar professionals to please clarify the situation.
Thanks in advance!!
