Sara Petrita Bombaci is an Assistant Professor of Diversity and Inclusion in Natural Resources at Colorado State University, with a background in conservation biology and a focus on restoring biodiversity and studying global change impacts.

Sara incorporates machine learning and bioacoustics into her research for enhanced biodiversity monitoring and has a strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM fields through research, teaching, and service.

Aside from her academic pursuits, Sara is a dedicated science communicator who employs storytelling, photography, and visual media to communicate her scientific discoveries to a wide range of audiences.

With a diverse research portfolio that combines theoretical and applied aspects, Sara utilizes various modeling and spatial tools to address her research inquiries.

Sara holds a Ph.D. in Ecology, a Master's degree in Wildlife Biology, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology from leading educational institutions such as Colorado State University and Fort Lewis College.

Her professional experience includes roles as an Assistant Professor at Colorado State University, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Clemson University, and Research Assistant at both Colorado State University and Fort Lewis College, along with prior work as a Wildlife Technician for the US Forest Service.
