Sara Cronan is a dynamic individual with a strong passion for learning and engaging with people.
With a background in Cultural Heritage Management from The Johns Hopkins University and Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies from Georgia Institute of Technology, Sara has a diverse educational foundation.
She has further enriched her educational journey through study abroad programs in Diplomacy at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and in History and Literature at the University of Oxford.
Sara has a rich history of involvement with the Smithsonian Institution, where she has served in various roles such as Advancement Specialist at the National Museum of Natural History, Advancement Associate at the National Air and Space Museum, and Intern at the Office of International Relations.
Her experiences also extend to roles outside the Smithsonian, including internships at Manna Project International and as an Assistant at the Office of International Education at Georgia Tech.
Sara's versatile background also includes being a Private Spanish Tutor, showcasing her linguistic skills and dedication to helping others learn language.
With a keen interest in engaging donors and visitors, Sara is a valuable asset in fostering connections and promoting cultural appreciation.
Highlights
One of the highlights of my summer has been graduating with my M.A. Cultural Heritage Management from The Johns Hopkins University in May. I am amazed by all the incredible people I've met here, amazed by how much fun I had with this degree, that I was able to keep working full-time at the Smithsonian while in school, and amazed that this program sent me traveling across the world for projects that meant a lot to me. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my family, classmates, professors, my advisor Sarah Chicone, the Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs Cultural Heritage Management cohort, and my incredibly supportive work team at Smithsonian Institution. Thank you for being part of this journey, and congratulations to all who are celebrating accomplishments this summer! Let's connect and continue to inspire each other. 🎓 🤝
Incredibly grateful for the past 6+ years (and counting!) at the Smithsonian, especially to my team at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. After working on a $285 million campaign to re-imagine the Museum, earning my M.A. Cultural Heritage Management from Johns Hopkins University, and countless adventures in between, I am hopping across the National Mall to start a new position as Advancement Specialist at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution! There has never been a more important time to advance our understanding of the natural world and our place within it. Many thanks to my new coworkers for helping to make this a seamless transition!
