It’s time for a little stretch – hello Hamburg ⚓

For the next three months you will find me at the Vestas office in Hamburg, where I get the opportunity to take a stretch assignment in our NCE Offshore Sales team.

I’m super excited to learn more about our Sales processes, engage with customers and most importantly having the opportunity to further develop our Sustainability Value Proposition by working alongside our Sales colleagues and getting to know our customers better.

A big shout-out to my manager, Lisa Malmquist Ekstrand, for continuously helping me to grow and making this assignment possible, and a special thanks to Alex Bradshaw and David Rooney for welcoming me to your team to expand my skills, grow, and to bring Sustainability closer to Sales.

After living in Denmark for the past seven years, this is the first time in my five year full-time professional journey that I will be working and living in Germany, and I am really curious to (re)discover this experience of being and full-time working in my home country.

If you are in Hamburg in the next three months and want to talk about Offshore, Sustainability or just meet for a nice catch-up always feel free to reach out.

Work like a woman 💕💪

Last Friday, we hosted a Women of Wind breakfast as a hybrid event in Copenhagen and online, diving into a topic that’s as important as it is often overlooked —and often considered taboo at work: menstrual health.

Our special guest was Carolina Spiess, a certified menstrual health coach, who not only guided us through understanding the menstrual cycle but did so with incredible clarity, humor and warmth. She explained in a clear and simple way how our hormones fluctuate during each phase, the unique strengths we have at different times during our cycle, and—most importantly—how to organize our work to align with the different phases.

I was so happy to see over 150 colleagues from across the Northern and Central Europe Region of Vestas join the session, and their engagement was incredible. Following the session, we held a meeting with the Power Network for Gender Equity, where representatives from A.P. Moller - Maersk, Ørsted, and Danske Bank joined us at Vestas. They also participated in the session, adding even more value to the conversation.

Two standout moments for me were: learning practical tips on how to structure our work week according to our cycle and discovering that 58% of attendees didn’t know which menstrual phase they were currently in (myself included). Why isn’t this something we’re taught early on in our lives? I can of course only talk for myself, but my personal and work life would have benefitted a lot from this.

It’s never too late to learn, though. Therefore, I’m so grateful that we had the opportunity to have the NCE Inclusive Network supporting us to bring Carolina to Vestas for this session.

I truly hope others will be inspired to connect with her as well and invite her for a session at their respective workplaces. The feedback speaks for itself—with a 9.5/10 rating from participants, it's clear this topic resonated deeply. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I know LinkedIn isn’t always the place where we openly share what’s on our minds, but I’d love to hear from others who’ve explored this approach—how has understanding your cycle impacted your work?

A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this event so impactful and to all the volunteers that helped to facilitate the session in all physical locations.

Together, we’re creating a more informed and empowered workplace.💚
