It's been a tough week in the Detroit ad community. In saying this, I'm clearly showcasing my gift for understatement.

My LinkedIn feed is filled with posts from people who have been set adrift after having dedicated their careers to creating iconic brands and campaigns for a Fortune 50 company that Detroit made. This city and its humans were no small part of its success. We've been building great brands, and creating ground-breaking, award-winning marketing campaigns here since before many of the people affected were born. It's heart-wrenching.

And yet...the outpouring of support for each other from our close-knit ad community is incredible. Those in a position to help are offering to make connections, provide references and keep their eyes open for opportunities. Consider me one of them, please. Reach out if I can help or offer a shoulder and a hug; those are good, too.

It's going to be a long road, but we will survive. Everyone who had the soul-crushing experience of taking their belongings home in a banker's box will land something great, something new, something BETTER.

New York holding companies be damned. We'll create new opportunities; we'll build new, independent shops and we'll be working with the best of the best.

Because "This is the Motor City, and this is what we do."

Recently completed a contract gig and am now actively seeking opportunities, either full-time, part-time, or contract/free lance. Market research, brand planning, creative strategy, copy writing, pitching, helping with Effies...maybe even something completely different! #OpenToWork
