Dr. Sara Sarnoski, Ph.D., is the Deputy Director at the Gates Foundation with a wealth of experience spanning 15 years in innovation, leadership, strategy, and executive advising.

Passionate about reducing health and opportunity inequities, Sara is dedicated to enabling individuals to lead happier, healthier, and more purposeful lives by crafting social impact strategies and fostering global partnerships to enhance health, gender equality, and economic outcomes.

Her current focus involves collaborating with a remarkable team to enhance access to safely managed, sustainable sanitation services for the world's most underprivileged populations.

Sara's academic journey includes the attainment of a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Duquesne University.

Throughout her career, she has held significant roles at prestigious organizations such as The Global Fund, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, McKinsey & Company, and Yale University.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Sara indulges in outdoor activities like SCUBA diving, swimming with manatees, kayaking, hiking, and cherishes spending time with her adopted dog, Kiwi.
