Deputy Director, Women in Global Health - Board Chair, Girls Health Ed

Sarah Hillware Spannring is the Deputy Director of Women in Global Health with extensive experience in international development and global health.

With over a decade of involvement in the field, Sarah has led various teams and projects focusing on global health and development, including trust funds and country-level initiatives across different sectors.

She has a background in policy reform for universal health coverage, health and climate programs, and health in all policies (HiAP) in multiple countries.

Sarah's career spans across prominent organizations such as the World Bank, World Health Organization, UN Refugee Agency, UN World Food Programme, as well as non-profit and private sector roles.

Aside from her professional roles, Sarah is the Founder and Board Chair of Girls Health Ed, an NGO that offers comprehensive health and sexuality education to low-income adolescent girls. She is also a board member at the Osgood Center for International Studies.

Her research and expertise in gender and health disparities have led her to deliver two TEDx talks. In recognition of her achievements, she was honored in 2014 by being named to the Leadership Center for Excellence 40 Under 40 list.
