shu uemura presents rouge unlimited kinu matte exhibit: unleash your senses.
For the first time since the pandemic we opened our doors to welcome press and KOL from China, HK, Singapore, Malaysia and of course Japan. They were invited to discover kinu matte through their five senses.
From the soft touch of Japanese silk that inspired our texture, to visions of Japanese Summer sunset and Autumn Momiji of the star shade storytelling, the moisture comfort of main ingredient tsubaki oil translated into soothing zen garden sounds, most luxurious scent of hinoki of the lipstick perfuming the air, and the Japanese sweets (wagashi) shade matched to our 20 shades of Kinu Matte. We hope our guests enjoyed the interactive experience we have prepared to welcome you back to the beautiful world of shu uemura.
Planning a global event in a country where I don’t speak the language, know zero agencies, vendors and even venues, all the while trying to learn its cultural customs was not a small challenge. But with the big challenge I was given the greatest faith and support from the best DMI I could have asked to do this with. Thank you Sandrine JOLLY for your inspiration of this beautiful brand to push our artistry and heritage in the most modern ways. I am grateful for your trust and your guidance. My partner in crime Jonathan Ooi that not only helped me learn new skills and connect the dots from concept to physical manifestation, but also showed up for real to even adjust lighting at the midnight venue check (and many more midnight texts as my therapist). My small but ultra mighty team OTA Noriko Mindy H. YE PENG that have tirelessly worked and shaped this event for the past seven months even while being a team member down - you guys are the champions. And all those that have allowed me to consult you and take your time for advice and troubleshooting, thank you thank you thank you!
