Sarah Shirazyan

Sarah Shirazyan is an experienced international lawyer with a strong background in public policy issues, including misinformation, algorithmic ranking, media freedoms, national security, and human rights. She currently serves as a Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School.

Sarah obtained her Certificate in Advanced Legal Studies and International Affairs from Tufts University's The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She holds a Doctor of Science of Law (J.S.D.) from Stanford Law School and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.

Throughout her career, Sarah has held key positions in various organizations. She has worked as a Content Policy Manager focusing on Misinformation & Algorithmic Ranking at Facebook. Additionally, she has served as a Lecturer in Law at the Interpol-Stanford Law Policy Lab, engaged in Global Public Policy related to International Institutions at Facebook, and acted as the Head Teaching Assistant to Dr. Condoleezza Rice at The Hoover Institution, Stanford University. She also has a history of roles at prestigious international institutions, including being an EU Privacy & Data Protection Consultant at the Council of Europe, a Lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights, and partaking in Disarmament Affairs at the United Nations. Furthermore, she has experience as a Drugs and Organized Crime Unit Associate at INTERPOL and as a Criminal & Election Law Attorney/Program Manager at the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative.
