Sarah Shlafmitz

2nd Grade Teacher at Achievement First

Sarah Shlafmitz is an accomplished educator with a diverse academic background and extensive teaching experience.

She holds a Master of Science (MS) in Educational Studies/Elementary from Johns Hopkins University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Jewish Studies from Tulane University, and also studied English and Jewish Studies at Charles University.

Sarah has made significant contributions to various organizations, serving as a 2nd Grade Teacher at Achievement First, 1st Grade Lead Teacher, and 2nd Grade Co-Teacher at KIPP New Orleans, and as a Teaching Fellow at both AmeriCorps and teachNOLA.

Her passion for education extends beyond traditional classroom settings, as evidenced by her role as an After School Art Instructor at Bricolage Academy and her involvement as a Tulane Hillel Student Staff Member at Tulane University.

Sarah's commitment to nurturing young minds is further highlighted by her experience as a Group Leader and Counselor at Camp Lokanda during the summers of 2011, 2012, and 2013.
