Highlights
It’s been a minute!
The past year has been a season of massive career transition on my end. I’m still working on what’s next, but with ongoing news of change in the tech and logistics industries, including folks I know impacted by broad layoffs, I wanted to take a moment to post an update.
After building Airhouse for more than five years, with many fond memories, I left last June. Even though I shifted my focus away from logistics upon leaving, I have been rooting from the sidelines for the team and all involved since.
Fulfillment is invisible work. You buy something, and it shows up on your doorstep. But those working in the field all know what it takes to power this intricate ecosystem, day in and day out. Especially during a pandemic. It’s a harmonizing of warehouses, shipping carriers, ecommerce brands, technology companies, packaging providers—just to name a few.
For this reason, I wanted to take a moment to express my immense gratitude for everyone who I have worked with: my co-founder Kevin Gibbon, customers, partners, team members, investors, and many others. To the team, thank you for your drive, creativity, passion, grit, and optimism. I have learned so much from each and every one of you about what it takes to build something meaningful together: a product, a team, a company, an industry, a community. What a privilege.
After a fast career to date, over the past year, I took a moment to slow down. I drove across the United States, spent extended time with family in Detroit (for the first time in 15 years!), and started work on new ideas.
I have more thoughts to share, and positive memories from those who have helped shape my views on work-life, career, and growth. It is far too much to contain in one post. So, more on this and what’s next soon.
In the meantime, if you find yourself in a period of transition of any kind, I just want to say, I support you. Even in the best circumstances, such moments are by definition disorienting, and we don’t talk about them much.
If we haven’t spoken in some time, I’d love to catch up! :)
Hi friends, some personal news. Given the important events and discussions happening this week around race, I'll keep it brief. Two years ago I started a company called Airhouse with my co-founder Kevin Gibbon to make logistics + operations ultra simple for modern ecommerce companies. Since then we’ve grown to work with dozens of folks making creative and innovative products, from puzzles to robotics kits, and are looking forward to helping many more launch and grow.
We're hiring for a few roles across Product, Operations and Growth ( jobs.lever.co/airhouse ), so please don't be a stranger if you or anyone you know is looking for their next step.
