Sarah Truitt is the Group Manager for the Prize Innovation Excellence Team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).1 In this role, she manages the group's capacity to implement innovation competitions, which have facilitated $250 million in prize awards over the last 5 years, and develops new capabilities that expand the American-Made Program.1 Truitt also oversees a portfolio of prizes funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office and the Office of State and Community Energy Programs.12

Before joining NREL, Truitt managed a staff of 12 at DOE headquarters in Washington, D.C. and spent 2 years in the California solar industry, selling solar energy systems and representing the solar industry perspective on the California Solar Initiative.12
Truitt earned a Master of Business Administration in Environmental Policy and Management from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Colorado Boulder.1
