Sarvnaz Karimi is a prominent senior researcher specializing in Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Machine Learning.

With over 10 years of expertise in biomedical NLP, Sarvnaz joined the CSIRO language technology team in 2012, where she leads projects and collaborates on various initiatives.

Before her tenure at CSIRO, she contributed to research at NICTA from 2008 to 2012, focusing on search and information retrieval in the medical domain, particularly in the BioTALA project.
