Highlights
I ran for Jefferson County Assessor four years ago because I thought the office needed new leadership.
So, what have I accomplished? How are things better today?
The percentage of property owners who appeal their value has gone from 5% under the prior administration, to 3% today. We’ve gone from having the most appeals of any similar county to having among the fewest.
Simply put, property owners have more confidence in our work than they ever have before.
When I took office, the Jeffco Assessor’s website was among the worst in the state; now it is among the best. You can now do almost all of your business with the Assessor’s office online. You can also learn a lot about the local real estate market, and how properties are assessed.
The key to fair taxation is fair valuation. A recent national study from the University of Chicago proves that the Jeffco Assessor’s office is among the fairest and least regressive in the country.
The work to make the assessor's office great is ongoing, and that is why I am running for re-election this year.
