Scott Wood
Scott Wood is the CEO and co-founder of True North Advisors, LLC, which he launched in 2000 with Mark Gehlbach.136 Together, they sought to create a firm that would eliminate conflicts of interest in client-advisor relationships.16 Wood's journey from Wall Street led him to co-found True North Advisors.6 He serves as the architect of the firm's vision, culture, and strategy and is a voting member of the Investment Policy Committee.1 Wood also shares responsibilities for the firm’s growth, marketing, and profitability.1 D CEO recognized Wood as one of the most powerful business leaders in North Texas in their annual Dallas 500 publication.2

Scott Wood serves on many boards and organizations in Dallas, including serving as the 104th President of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, Chairman of the Momentous Institute Board, Treasurer of the Tom Landry FCA Foundation, and Park Cities Baptist Church’s Long-Term Planning Committee.12 He is also an active member of the YPO Gold-Dallas, YPO Gold-Maverick, and the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.12
In September 2024, True North Advisors acquired Clear Rock Advisors, a wealth management and investment firm with offices in Dallas, Austin, and Kerrville, Texas.47 This acquisition likely pushed True North past $4 billion in assets under management.4
