I've been thinking a lot about AI and telecoms, mainly in terms of the ordering process as that would make things easier, but could an AI chatbot/system replace the general support desk (first/second/third line) in any real sense? I think it has a place in asking certain initial questions to gather the information, but I don't think it could ever enact a proper solution without human intervention.
Some automated help systems I've used across sites are good for the odd basic query, but for more complex they struggle or pass it on to a human. I've no doubt it'll get better... someday.
A very interesting article; the paper is a hefty read but a very good delve in to the method. It never ceases to amaze me how many vulnerabilities things have and how people can exploit them.
