ONE DAY, all children will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.

Today is DAY ONE of the 2024-25 school year for most Nevadans. Sending love to all students, families, educators, & communities working to make that future possible

I started working at Teach For America Nevada because I believe in a just and fair society where every kid has a chance to succeed. An excellent education by itself won't solve all our problems or the inequities in our world, but it is one key ingredient. Together we can improve outcomes for all our kids.

Organizations like NEVADA YOUTH NETWORK and leaders like Michael Flores are working directly in communities that are often furthest from opportunity. My favorite tradition is the joyous rally they host to celebrate the first day of school at Clark County School District's Matt Kelly Elementary School.

All our kids deserve to see community leaders like Steven Horsford, Catherine Cortez Masto for Senate, Jhone Ebert, Interim Superintendent Brenda Larsen-Mitchell, Linda Cavazos, Adam Johnson, Ramona Esparza-Stoffregan, Trustee Zamora, William McCurdy II, Tami Hance-Lehr, Brittany DuPree, MPA, Nathaniel Waugh, MA, Anthony White, Athar Haseebullah, Esq., Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater, Cecia Alvarado, Tameka Henry, Foodiefit, Tiffany Lane, and so many others support them today and throughout the year. Let's do this together.

The question I'm asked most these days- "What are you doing now that you left TFA?"

I haven't yet left! Much like the President, I gave a 6 month notice and intend to make the end of my term as impactful as possible 😅

My biggest priorities before I step down in October include hiring an amazing successor, planning a 20th Anniversary Gala & Homecoming event, and ensuring the sustainability of our impact in Nevada. Being a teacher, coach, and executive director was a series of dream jobs for the last 15 years. I look forward to finding my next dream job in the fall and appreciate all your support!
