Sean Sweetnam is a highly skilled materials scientist specializing in semiconductor, polymer, and thin film characterization and deposition.

With over 8 years of experience in the field, Sean has a strong background in photovoltaic technologies such as amorphous silicon, quantum dots, organic photovoltaics, GaAs, as well as polymer systems including semiconducting polymers, thin film polymer deposition, and patterning.

His expertise lies in spectroscopy, materials characterization, thin film photovoltaics, and thin film processing.

Sean Sweetnam completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Carleton College.

He has held various roles in prestigious organizations including being an Advanced Research Specialist, Research Specialist, and Senior Research Engineer at 3M, as well as positions such as Integration Engineer and Development Engineer at Alta Devices.

His academic journey includes being a PhD Candidate in Materials Science Engineering at Stanford University and a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Neuchâtel.

Sean also contributed as a SULI Intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
