I almost got scammed today - please look out for these warning signs!

I posted an item for sale on Facebook Marketplace. A woman responded to my ad, offered the amount and said she'd send a courier to pick up the item on Saturday.

She sent me a screenshot asking for my email address to setup the courier, Lalamove, a reputable courier in Singapore (1). I provided this, then received an email from "Lalamove" asking me to setup the purchase order (2). I clicked on the URL and was taken to a page confirming the order details, asking me what bank to receive the funds into. The next page asked for my banking login details...

This is where the red flag finally sunk in. On closer inspection, the email I received was in fact from "'™ Lalamove.customer-service [email protected]" - a fake email account, and the website it took me to was "lalamovie.mtnet.store" - a fake website.

Receiving funds should ❗never❗ require you to provide banking login details. Stay vigilant, share experiences, and help prevent scammers from succeeding.
