Selva Ramachandran, a seasoned development practitioner with 26 years of experience at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) HQ, has honed strategic leadership skills across diverse regions like South and East Asia, Central Asia, Arab States, and North America.

As the Country Director of UNDP in Yemen, Libya, and currently Sudan, Selva has showcased exceptional management, political acumen, and team leadership in navigating complex tasks and fostering team synergy.

With a successful history of engagement in MDGs, SDGs, governance, human rights, recovery to development, community security, renewable energy, disarmament, HIV/AIDs, climate change, and more, Selva brings a wealth of expertise in conflict and post-conflict environments, conflict analysis, and preventing violent extremism.

Beyond his work with UNDP, Selva is an adept researcher and lecturer, having authored books and numerous research papers, emphasizing his commitment to academic excellence and knowledge dissemination.

Educationally, Selva holds a PhD in Asian and International Studies from Griffith University, a Master's degree in Demography and Population Studies, and a Bachelor's degree in Demography and Population Studies from the University of Malaya.
