Hello fellow architects and urban enthusiasts,
Three months ago, I had the privilege of sharing an article about a conceptual model for a city that I believe has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach urban planning. If you missed it, you can find it here: https://lnkd.in/eCD26vcd
But today, I'm thrilled to announce that our vision of bringing conceptual models to life has taken a significant leap forward. Our development team has breathed life into this model through our SaaS platform, https://dtwin.city
This "revitalization" process has enabled us to calibrate the model across a staggering 5000 territories, spanning cities, regions, municipalities, and even entire countries. The result? A dynamic and interactive simulation that links indicators and their respective models.
The implications of this revitalization are profound. We're now equipped to conduct scenario forecasts that are finely balanced by the intricate dynamics of indicators. What's more, we can comprehensively assess the impact of both external forces and management decisions on the trajectory of each indicator. Imagine the power of being able to predict how various factors will influence a city's growth, sustainability, and overall well-being.
Our startup's overarching mission is to establish permanent models for the social, economic, and environmental development of territories. Gone are the days of decisions driven by political whims; we're ushering in an era of management decisions grounded in computable models derived from a unified image. This strategic shift has the potential to liberate society from the shackles of personalistic motives and manipulations, as we rely on data-driven insights to guide us towards a better future.
This journey is a collaborative one, and I'm eager to hear your thoughts, insights, and critiques.

Wow, what an insightful read! Thanks, Louis Bouwer PhD Eng., for sharing this McKinsey article on Digital Twin.

The concept of a digital twin has always fascinated me, and this article hits the nail on the head by highlighting that it's much more than just a mere 3D copy. Instead, it's a powerful process that simulates an object's behavior, providing a deeper understanding of how it functions in the real world. The idea of having a digital twin as a companion throughout an object's life cycle is truly revolutionary.
However, I can't help but wonder about the introduction of the term "enterprise metaverse" for complex systems like companies or cities. While it aims to optimize simulations, scenario planning, and decision making, I believe it might add unnecessary complexity to the concept. Yet, I'm thrilled by the possibilities it presents and how it could be further developed and refined in the future.
I'm also curious about the examples used in the article, which mostly focus on digital twins of products. Don't get me wrong; that's impressive in itself, but what excites me even more are the potential applications for more intricate, non-hand-made systems like the social systems. It's an exciting challenge for researchers and engineers to explore these possibilities and uncover the full potential of digital twins.
In my opinion, the true power of digital twins lies in their ability to handle countless scenarios and find optimal solutions in unforeseen circumstances. I firmly believe that within the next decade, digital twins will evolve to become more than just static data sheets or regulations. They will become dynamic decision-makers that can navigate complex situations with ease. The future is indeed promising, and I can't wait to witness the transformative impact of digital twins across industries. What are your thoughts on this exciting vision?"
